Problem
CalSTA currently utilizes a desktop Microsoft Access-based system to manage critical communications (Transmittals). This system manages the assignment, workflow, status tracking, notifications and document repository for the constituent concerns, Issue Memorandums, and Goldenrod correspondence received by CalSTA.
Current system limitations include slow performance and frequent system interruptions that frequently require the application to be restarted. In-house familiarity with the technical details of this system is limited and the original application developers do not work at Caltrans.
Solution
Touchpoints is currently working to modernize both the application and the transformation of the business process around it by collaborating with the CalSTA and CALTRANS teams. Due to the involvement of multiple departments and Governor’s office, it is of utmost importance for us to provide a top-class solution and facilitate its adoption across its intended constituents.
With support from the CalSTA SMEs and CALTRANS, Touchpoints team is following an Agile approach to Modernize and deliver this important engagement for CalSTA.
